ApacheCon Sessions Finished
Ah, the hard part is over - no, not the receptions in the evening - I mean my three sessions. I think, all went fairly well, though I had the feeling that due to my poor english I could not make all points come across. But I'll start english lessions by the end of the year, yeah, no joke.
Anyways, there were always plenty of attendees, the rooms were nearly full and only some left the room during the presentations. In the end it was fun and I hope that I could met the expectations. I was a little bit disappointed that none of the maven committers attended my maven session.
Apart from the sessions, I met so many interesting people for the first time, I can't name them all. Most noteably of course, Dims, which is one of the first Apache committers I met on the Cocoon list - and it took us five years to meet f2f. Especially I enjoyed staying with the J2 crowd and hope to meet them again.
During the first two days of the conference I heard several interesting sessions about MyFaces, Shale, Axis2 and Synapse - I somehow have the feeling that Synapse might be the next version of Cocoon. It will be interesting to follow this project.
Running around here, meeting people, hearing session, discussing etc. is really fun and it seems to me that 2006 will be a really interesting year and I can imagine that several interesting things will happen (not just me trying to learn english)...
